There are several technologies that secure the actual stream of data to your customers.
Ooyala encrypted streaming prevents video streams from being ripped and recorded. Publishers can monetize their video with ads right in the stream. This provides an additional level of protection on top of playback authorization.
|RTMPE||RTMPE (Real Time Messaging Protocol, encrypted) encrypts content on-the-fly using secure sockets layer (SSL) for delivery to Flash devices.|
|Encrypted HTTP Live Streaming (HLS)||To protect content on iOS (Apple's mobile operating system) and HTML5-based devices, Ooyala uses HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) content protection. Content is transcoded and each segment of each stream is AES-128 encrypted with a randomly generated content encryption key.|
|Encrypted HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS)||Adobe’s version of HTTP streaming is a natural evolution for customers who are using RTMP/E today but want the caching benefits of HTTP.||Not yet supported|
To implement these protections, you do not need to do anything. Ooyala provides this protection depending on the type of target devices.
